I was going through some of my old prints from college and I found this old Archiving project I started in 2005.  

I really liked this project but I think of this more as a first draft and something that I really want to continue and refine. 

Mugshots are one of the oldest forms of photographic archives.  Photographing of criminals began in the 1840s only a few years after the invention of photography, but it was not until 1888 that French police officer Alphonse Bertillon standardized the process.  This was the initial inspiration for the project. 

All photos were shot on 35mm black and white film
