Hi, I’m Roya, a Pasadena-based photographer specializing in documentary-inspired wedding, couples, and portrait photography throughout Los Angeles, Southern California, and beyond. With more than 18 years of experience, my work is rooted in authentic connection, thoughtful storytelling, and an appreciation for the people and places that make each story unique. My approach blends documentary photography with natural, intuitive direction, allowing moments to unfold organically while creating photographs that feel both artful and honest.

I'm drawn to the beautifully unscripted moments: windblown hair, spontaneous laughter, nervous hands, muddy shoes, quiet embraces, and all the little details that often mean the most. Whether documenting a wedding, a relationship, a family, or a meaningful chapter of life, my goal is to create timeless images that capture not just how it looked, but how it felt.

Okay, really if you're looking for a photographer stop here. Because she is the best. I mean, she'll literally walk through rivers to get good shots for you. She did our engagement and wedding photos and they turned out beautifully. We're both camera shy but she somehow managed to make us look like professional models. She gets really good angles and her lighting is perfect... The photos come out looking unique and artistic, which is a combination that's hard to find. She's also really personable and a great time to hang out with. HIGHLY recommend.

From intimate celebrations to wide-open landscapes and familiar backyards, my goal remains the same: to create photographs that feel unmistakably yours. I’m happiest when photography gets me outside. Mountains, deserts, coastlines, or backyard adventures. I love photographing people in places that make them feel something.
